QuickPwn tested, screenshots

The iPhone Dev Team today released an update to their beta QuickPwn tool complete with GUI by poorlad. It’s now compatible with iPhone and iPod 2.0.2 firmware, so for those brave enough to try beta software and running Windows it’s great. This is a bit of a turnaround to previous tools the Dev Team have released which always seemed to see Mac versions first. PwnageTool 2.0.2 released with Installer 4 beta

Version 2.0.2 with support for firmware 2.0.1 is now out, and the iPhone Dev Team has a couple of other sources on their blog to help the struggling upgrade servers. I’ve updated my iPod Touch using PwnageTool 2.0.2 and everything appears to be working well. Cydia and Installer are both installed by default, which seems to me like a strange idea. No disrespect to the people writing these apps, but what’s the difference? Do we really need two apps for installing software?

iPhone Apps

The one aspect of the upcoming iPhone/iPod version 2 software that has me most excited is the appstore. Although there are already some impressive and useful applications available through the installer app, I can’t wait to see what coders release once the fruits of the SDK are finished.
